↟Our weekend of camping ↟
This is a special blog post because I am writing in my
hammock out in the woods! Matt and I have been camping this past weekend and it
has been absolutely amazing and therapeutic in ways I could not imagine.
The air is brisk and chilly but I am covered in a mountain of soft blankets. The sun is peeking through the leaves and the birds are singing. There is a creek next to our camp and all night, we could hear the sounds of water trickling down-stream. There is something so peaceful about sleeping under the stars. You can temporarily forget about bills, work, and school, and just enjoy mother nature.

We have always wanted to camp more, but we never got around
to making it happen, until now. I am so excited to do it more, plan fun meals
and have lots of adventures. Speaking of meals, if anyone has good camping recipes,
please pass them my way. I made foil dinners last night, and they were edible.
But not amazing.
Our weekend was spent hiking, exploring Jackson Hole, and
sleeping in our hammocks, which I must say, is very comfortable! I have always
been tent camping in the past, and it was miserable for me most of the time because
I could not get comfortable. I fill my hammock with blankets and my sleeping
bag, and I sleep very peacefully. Trust me! Try it sometime.
I took a bunch of pictures, as you will see below, of our
trip. It was nice to see Matt in his element. He is so natural out in the woods
and is the best person to camp with because he is prepared for anything! Our
dog, JoJo, makes a couple appearances, and my sister Emma was with us for one
night.
If you want to try forgetting about stresses and worries for
a night or two, here is the name of the camp sight. It is about an hour from
Rexburg, but so worth it! And FREE!
