❄ The After Christmas Blues...How to make your favorite holiday last! ❄

Monday, January 01, 2018
Every year, when Christmas ends, I get really depressed and sad. I love the Christmas sprit, the movies, the music, the presents, the food, the smells and everything else that goes along with it. As a child, I would sit by the tree until bedtime because it made me feel so peaceful.

This year, Matt and I spent Christmas with both our families. It was awesome. We sat around, ate good food, played games, and spent time talking and hanging out. I love those moments of connection. We had a bit of down time at home together as well, with just the two of us. We decorated our apartment, listened to all our favorite holiday albums, and when it came to an end...I decided that it did not have to! Who says you have to take down your tree? Why can't you watch the rest of the Christmas movies you missed or listen to all the great Christmas music?

Christmas was wonderful but I am not ready to put everything away just yet. My favorite gift this year was my Hunter Boots from Matt. I am so siked to wear them! They also make a great vase for flowers by the front door.

So, If you feel like you need a little more Holiday time, here is a list of tips on how to keep the Christmas spirit in your home after December 25...

*Keep up your tree for a couple more weeks! It adds such a beautiful sight to your home

*Keep your kitchen stocked with holiday treats! My favorites are...peppermint joe joe's (from Trader Joe's), Almond Roca (yummm), Barra Mexican chocolate (For the best hot cocoa ever) and Peppermint sticks (to put in the best hot cocoa).

*Go after-Christmas shopping for ornaments and wrapping paper for next year. (Target has awesome Holiday Clearance)

*Burn holiday scented candles. Fill your home with the smell of pine and sugar cookies! (These are also on sale at Target)

*Use holiday scented soap. (Meyers has Orange clove and Pine hand soap that smell amazing. They even have peppermint dish soap!)

*Don't stop listening to Christmas music! So many new songs came out this year. Here is a link to my "after Christmas Blues" playlist on Spotify:

Well, I hope this helps your holiday transition go smoothly.

 Love,
Cassie
